Interview with Rip

Can you give us a brief history of the project?

Trinity, my latest album, is my third studio album and the first in half a decade. It's a complete new direction in my 20 year music career and focuses on my struggles and faith, which is not what a lot of my earlier music in life reflects. I just reached a turning point in life and this album is where I'm at.



How does the band handle mistakes during a live performance?

During a live performance if a mistake happens, you gotta keep it moving . Most times people don't even notice when you do. You just have to keep things moving and try not to beat yourself up for it. I know most musicians see perfectionists...and there's no such thing.



What advice do you have for people who want to form their own bands?

You're in it for a long haul. Expect a lot of sacrifices and rejection. It's really not a industry for the faint of heart. You need alligator skin to be successful in this industry. But if you're passionate about it and know it's your calling...go full force. Don't ever let anyone else, parents and close family included, tell you otherwise. Follow YOUR heart and YOUR dreams. Nobody else. They don't have to live with your decisions.



Is there anyone you'd like to acknowledge for offering financial or emotional (or any other type of) support?

My Father and Grandma (now deceased) were really the ones who supported me and believed in me most when I first started. Now, a lot more people support me...but major credit to my Dad and Grandma for believing in me in the early stages. And last but not least, thanks to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for His Grace and Blessings

Do you have any upcoming releases?

I have 1 last music video, "Awesome God", that I'm releasing off "Trinity" in November then a new single in 2019 featuring Kane (a group of twin teenagers I took under my wings)
