Interview with LiveTrigger

Interview date: 1st Feb 2020

What is LiveTrigger? Can you tell us about its birth?

LiveTrigger is the most advanced live music community on the planet. It aims to connect musicians, promoters, bands & venues to book amazing live music shows. Its date of born is 2012, but we went online for the first time in 2014. We are running the 3rd desktop version, released in 2019.

What has been the most exciting thing for LiveTrigger?

At the moment, we reached a milestone of 10.000 subscribers to the platform, and it’s exhilarating. I mean, the most exciting thing was for sure going online and then see how much lovers got excited about an open-source and free project as Livetrigger.

What was the biggest surprise for you at LiveTrigger?

The biggest surprise was to discover after we built the whole community, that people would not subscribe by themselves. We thought the service was perfect because it was in our mind, but not for people.

What type of person would benefit from your services? What makes you different from your competition?

First of all, we are entirely free and open-source; secondly, we are a worldwide service, so if a promoter from Europe wants to find bands in the USA, they can find them on LiveTrigger. Our most significant competitors in the USA are Reverbnation and Sonicbids. In Europe, we can consider our biggest competitor Viberate.

What are your plans for 2020?

In 2020, the idea is to expand our network and reach 20.000 users. Then, we need time or money to develop what is required to keep up with the competition. Our problem is that we don’t have any subscription plan or advanced features that users can purchase. Finally, we are always looking for volunteers that would like to help us in the development phase or content wide.

Is there anyone you would like to thank or mention?

I want to thanks everyone from the team. Without them, LiveTrigger would not exist. So a big thanks and hug to Gege (our IT guru), Gio (our graphic and communication manager), Jacopo (our financial and marketing manager). A big thanks to Bill and Jack Golding for the support in Melbourne and the fantastic job they are doing with Jonhson Street and Andrea, myself for a great done done!. And of course, thanks to everyone in the community that every day gives us suggestions and support. We need it because we all are professionals, but we love to dedicate spare time to a project that supports independent live music.
